Integrated Community Development Society-ICDS is a voluntary developmental organization working in the coastal area of southern Bangladesh. With the initiative of some self-motivated and energetic youths with a view to bring the lasting positive change in the lives of the poor and the destitute has created the organization. ICDS believes in integrated approach with bottom up participatory management in order to response the felt need of the program participants. To address the emerging social problem like technological backwardness, lack of education, environmental hazards, the organization has started its July 1st 2007. It is actively involved promoting human dignity, children rights, gender equity, human rights and entitlement.

Goal of ICDS

The challenges of Integrated Community Development Society (ICDS) therefore are to emerge with a strong voice that says there must be better lives and way o living assured for every one. Very practically, however Integrated Community Development Society (ICDS) endeavors to end discrimination against women, the level of poverty and inequality in our Organization.

Objectives of ICDS

• To identify and organize the disadvantaged people in group for the improvement o their living standard.
• To facilitate organized group members in raising their social awareness and enable them to find out root causes of poverty and hunger.
• To establish human right especially for the women and children and reduce violence and discrimination.
• To make a Safety communication and sustainable environment.
• To eradicate the literacy by formal and non-formal education.
• To aware the Gender development and their rights establishment.
• To promote planned families, reducing maternal, child morality and morbidity
• To improve the awareness of the poor about their deprivation and exploitation through legal aid training.
• To promote sustainable agriculture, crops production and nursery development
• To ensure Water & Sanitation facilities to the target people
• To improve the socio-economic status of the target groups by developing the habit of savings, providing skill training and Micro Credit support
• To provide relief and rehabilitation supports to the disaster people during natural calamities.
